Poetree cards
I know, it’s a cheesy name but I like it! The idea of being able to create e-cards or printed ones you can share with others for no other reason than to say “Why not stop awhile and read this piece of poetry?” appeals greatly to me.
So many think it’s all hearts and flowers stuff but it’s not! Here’s some of mine that I created poetree cards for and I hope they demonstrate that.

The Huntress for example was actually about depression. It encapsulates my view of how you need to always be aware of the possibility of it taking hold again, even when you’ve recovered from it. Depression can creep up on you again if you don’t pay attention or become blasé about it. While it may on the surface seem to be a nightmarish poem, the message behind it is intended to be one of positive guidance.
This next one was originally called Shhh…, but now I refer to it as just Be Still.

Be Still’s message is about taking time to simply listen to your intuition and breathe. It was written as something to offer a few moment’s calm in the day.
Here’s a short 1 minute video of Be Still I narrated:

This one is very simple and short, This Day and Always.

I dislike the graphics design of this now but still love the poem. It’s been accepted for publication a few times and hopefully carries a universal message. I guess it’s a prayer of a sort but is meant to be non-denominational. The card design does need an overhaul though.
The last one I’m going to share for now is Think of Me.

Ok, it’s got the love word in it, I admit it. I wrote this for Mike when we were oceans apart but never knew that it would bring comfort to people who have lost someone. That’s been the most common reason it’s been shared I’m aware of and I’m humbled to have my poetry used in such a way.
That’s it for now. I have more that I’ll get added fairly soon though, so stay tuned.
