Publishing giant Penguin Classics has teamed up with the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS)for a global warming anthology.
The project, entitled Thoreau’s Legacy: American Stories about Global Warming has put out a call for submissions from both writers and photographers in the US for this online book. They’re seeking personal stories and images to be shared. Publication is scheduled for 2009 with the submission deadline set at November 15 2008. But that’s not all!

Brain, Child Magazine has a tagline of “the magazine for thinking mothers”. They look for personal essays, features, fiction, reviews and more. I strongly suggest you read the excellent articles on their site not only to get a feel for the type of thing they like, but to enjoy a great read.

Blue Mountain Arts is mainly known as a greetings card publisher. You’ve probably bought one of theirs at some time. Pay is currently listed $300 per poem for the worldwide, exclusive rights to publish it on a greeting card and other products, and $50 per poem for one-time use in a book. Not bad at all!
