At its peak, hundreds of thousands of homes lost power, people were killed and thousands are still without electricity or water in outlying areas. Ever tried living by candlelight for that long? You couldn’t get batteries, torches, candles nor anything remotely connected with lighting for love nor money anywhere by the time it came back on. I’ve talked to 75 year olds that have never seen anything like it having lived here all their lives, so I think it’s a once in a lifetime experience. Thankfully!

Unfortunately I missed this when it came out before but Winning Writers congratulated me on my Feedback magazine win way back in the Feb 2007 newsletter. I can’t believe I didn’t see it because I read it faithfully!

I’ve came across writing guides that say you should write differently depending on whether you’re writing for print or online publication. Online apparently requires shorter, snappier sentences. And less formality.
I’ve never really thought about it much until recently. I just write what I write but the more I look at it, the more I see the differences. I’m long winded, let’s face it. Short sentences aren’t part of my vocabulary very often but at least I know I am guilty of it!

Awww, you’re making me blush!
There’s a very simple way to do that. Just go to Syndicate Me! in the left hand column and click where it says Entries RSS. That’ll give you the feed link you need. Then just insert it in your site or blog’s RSS feed reader. It’s free and I would love you forever if you can find a wee corner for me.
I know some people have never used an RSS feed so I’m going to give step by step instructions here with screenshots showing exactly how you add an RSS feed to your Dashboard, using mine as an example. It only takes a minute and once you’ve done one, it’s fairly simple.
