“An Inconvenient Truth” is a documentary that tells the story of how global climate change is impacting planet earth. This film is based on a slide-show presentation that was given numerous times by former Vice-President and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Al Gore.

Mr. Gore has had a passion for spreading the message of environmental awareness since his days in the US House of Representatives and United States Senate. He tried to see some of his ideas on the environment come to pass when he was vice-president.

Al Gore had given his video presentation many times. Many people thought that Mr. Gore was providing valuable information, and they wanted to make a film about his ideas on global climate change. Lawrence Bender was recruited to become the producer of this documentary film.

Lawrence Bender studied at the University of Maine. Initially, he thought about becoming a dancer, but he ended up working in the film industry. His first major film to achieve recognition was “Reservoir Dogs”. He would later produce many films for director Quentin Tarantino including “Pulp Fiction” which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

“Good Will Hunting” was another Best Picture nominee for Lawrence Bender, and he would later receive another nomination in the category with the film he produced called “Inglorious Bastards”.

When Lawrence Bender came on to the “A Inconvenient Truth” movie, he wanted to find a way to make it commercial successful. He wanted to find a way to make audiences want to see it.

Mr. Bender developed the idea of having Al Gore use a massive screen to show his slides to an audience in a smaller venue. Audiences were quite taken with the documentary, and it garnered good reviews and a good take at the box office.

Lawrence Bender did have a great deal of success with the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”. In addition to the film’s box office success, the movie received the Academy Award for Best Documentary and Best Original Score. So far, it is the only documentary film that has received more than one Academy Award.
