Adam Milstein may not always have the most conventional ideas on how to run a business, but his track record is one that speaks volumes about his acumen. He’s a Managing Partner of Hager Pacific Properties, a company he cofounded along with David Hager and one that has billions of dollars in properties they manage. Their commercial and residential properties are primarily located in California, Texas and Illinois though they did just recently complete a deal that includes $35 million in new property acquisitions that include Wisconsin as well. Milstein is also a philanthropist who not only financially supports but is also active in Jewish and pro-Israel non-profit groups.
Ideamensch, an independent entrepreneurial blog wanted to know about some of Adam Milstein’s unconventional approaches, so they sat down for an interview with him. Milstein told them he got the idea for the company in grad school because he felt he could do better on his own than what most companies recruiting on campus could offer him. He’s said he doesn’t mind doing a lot of work on his own because it’s more rewarding than waiting for someone to do it for you. He’s also said nobody should listen to claims that they’re being taken advantage of in real estate because making a lot of money takes time. He also says being involved in philanthropy is a key part of having structure at his business and that you can’t be limited by just specific goals.
