At its peak, hundreds of thousands of homes lost power, people were killed and thousands are still without electricity or water in outlying areas. Ever tried living by candlelight for that long? You couldn’t get batteries, torches, candles nor anything remotely connected with lighting for love nor money anywhere by the time it came back on. I’ve talked to 75 year olds that have never seen anything like it having lived here all their lives, so I think it’s a once in a lifetime experience. Thankfully!
