Blue Mountain Arts Submission Guidelines

Blue Mountain Arts is mainly known as a greetings card publisher. You’ve probably bought one of theirs at some time. Pay is currently listed $300 per poem for the worldwide, exclusive rights to publish it on a greeting card and other products, and $50 per poem for one-time use in a book. Not bad at all!

Has the Internet killed the art of conversation?

Long long ago, in the days before the Internet, a mouse was something that made maidens hitch their hooped skirts up and scream. Today that little mechanical wonder is attached to what is arguably the biggest conversation killer of our time. I’m talking about real live face to face conversations here, not chats or IM’s.

Ideas bubbling up everywhere!

If you’re a visual person, mind maps can be a very useful tool indeed for brainstorming creative ideas. One website I know of, called bubbl.us, offers an online version. It’s a personal favorite of mine and I thought it warranted a review. Easy to use, you can choose whether to collaborate with friends and coworkers on a mind map or simply for your own planning purposes.
